last lights

national-stadium-1.jpg

I will always remember those floodlights. I will always remember the first time I walked into the stadium as a child. The scene bathed in a white glow. The grass, vibrant green. The smell of cigarette smoke mixed with that of curry puffs. The stadium announcer’s voice mixed in with the low rumbling sound of the swearing, sweating throng of 50,000.

And high above the crowd they stood, lonely and ignored. Soon the lights will go out forever.

    Hi Leslie,
First of all, keep up the great work!! Singapore sports need passionate people like you around to promote Singapore sports. I just wanted to let you know that your comments really bring back fond memories of the stadium for me. However wish you had taken a shot of the entrance into the stadium when I saw a brightly lit arena with a view of the red track and green soccer pitch. That was the first image that hits me!

    Regards,
    Vince
